Progress Update on Life Cycle Cost Analysis in SAFeCRAFT

The SAFeCRAFT project continues to make strides in Task 8.2, led by University of Strathclyde, which focuses on conducting a Life Cycle Cost Assessment (LCCA) for Sustainable Alternative Fuels (SAF). This analysis is crucial in evaluating the financial and environmental impact of SAF solutions while supporting circular economy principles.

The team is currently gathering data on Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and end-of-life scenarios, essential elements in assessing the full lifecycle costs of alternative fuel systems. By examining dismantling and recycling strategies, the study will highlight opportunities for reusability and sustainability in maritime applications.

Stay tuned for further updates as we progress toward a comprehensive economic evaluation of SAF solutions in sustainable shipping.
