Led by the University of Patras (UPAT), work on the SAFeCRAFT Platform has continued beyond Task 5.2, making the environmental assessment of each vessel more accurate and the platform more reliable and easier to maintain.
The main change concerns the “Alignment with Environmental Targets” tab. The code and vessel data from Deliverable 3.4 now replace the simplified approach, so results reflect the specific ship and its operating profile.
Alongside this, several functional bugs were resolved, and hard-coded sections of the code were replaced with parametric, reusable components. The code is now simpler, more readable and easier to maintain and extend.
The data generated in the “Alignment with Environmental Targets” tab also feeds other tabs, such as the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the cost analysis. The different parts of the platform are therefore now interconnected, providing a more accurate holistic analysis of the vessel configuration.
